ABOUT THE APP

What is it that fuels you? For me, it’s medicine, education, and computing. I love exploring my passions and "Doctor's Bag" is truly my own little passion project, gaining more and more traction each day.

As a child life volunteer, I noticed that weekly games of "Hospital BINGO," designed to introduce children to healthcare items and personnel, didn't adequately engage child patients to learn about the hospital environment, particularly the potentially frightening equipment in their rooms. I thus began working on "Doctor's Bag" to ultimately allow a patient’s mobile device to classify and display definitions about various hospital items around their room in real-time using the camera, creating a more engaging experience. "Doctor's Bag" is the first and free image classifier app designed to motivate children to actively explore the hospital through their devices.
